The Leslianne Shedd Fund is endowed through the generosity of the Shedd
family and gifts received in memory of a 1990 Jackson School alumna who
was tragically killed in the crash of a hijacked Ethiopian Air Lines
flight in 1996. Leslianne was serving as a Foreign Service Officer with
the U.S. Department of State in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Her experience in
Africa had inspired her to plan a return to UW for training to work in the
field of public health.
